Christian?
Being a Christian is about living your life together with Jesus as the Bible teaches. For that to be possible, one first needs to become a Christian. One does not become a Christian by being born into a Christian family or being baptized as a child. Becoming a Christian is about turning away from sin and turning to Jesus instead and putting your faith in Him. Faith can be expressed by telling Jesus that you want to have your sin forgiven and start following Him. Here below follows a short message called the gospel, the happy news.
Proof that God exists
“For what may be known about God is clear to them since God has shown it to them. The invisible things about Him—His eternal power and deity—have been clearly seen since the creation of the world and are understood by the things that are made, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:19-20
That the universe, the earth, nature, animals and people both exist and function, that is clear evidence that we all can see and therefore understand that God, the Creator, exists. Man is created in God’s image and is meant to live in fellowship with God.
The seriousness of sin
But, right from the beginning, man chose to go his own way, away from God and God’s ways. Sin broke the fellowship between God and man.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23
All people have sinned against God in thought, word, deed and also by not doing what we should have done. If we die with our sins unsolved before God, then we cannot go to heaven but must then suffer the consequences for our sins, in hell. God does not want any man to come there.
Proof of God’s love
God in His love has arranged a solution for us, but it had an incredibly high price.
“In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was completely sinless. Of free will, He took the punishment for our sins upon Himself by suffering and dying on the cross. That’s why He came here to earth. God’s wrath and punishment, for our sins, hit His beloved Son as He hung and died on the cross.
On the third day Jesus rose from the dead and He has won victory over death, sin, curse and the devil for us humans. Because Jesus died and rose for us, there is now grace and forgiveness to be received. Reconciliation between man and God is now available through Jesus.
Respond today
Today you can be reconciled to God and become a child of God. You can get to know God and He wants to be your best friend and you can be secure in your heart that you will go to heaven when you die.
“Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,” Acts 3:19
Respond today by turning away from sin and turn to Jesus instead.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Put your heart’s faith and trust in Jesus and trust that what He has done for you by His suffering, death and resurrection is enough.
“For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord (Jesus) shall be saved (rescued).”” Romans 10:13
Tell Jesus that you now want to be reconciled to God and receive grace and be forgiven for your sins.
Walk on with God
Read the Bible and let it guide and strengthen you. You can pray and thank God and know that He hears you and loves you. Feel free to connect with other Christians and try to find a local church where you can meet other believers.
“I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it… ” Philippians 1:6
Through your faith in Jesus, God has now begun a good work in your heart and He will not let you down. Walk on with God and trust that God is both willing and able to help you in everything.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
