Buy without money

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Listen, so that your soul may live,…” Isaiah 55:1-3

God offers us food and drink that deeply satisfies. We can buy it without money, but it is still something we need to do. You can be served food by a friend, but you need to eat the food yourself, it would be strange if the person who served you would also feed you.

We buy from God by giving our time and attention to listen. That’s how we pay. We need to incline our ear and listen to God. It is mentioned three times in the verses you just read. Hearing and bending our ear to God, we do that when we read the Bible, God’s word. It is an action we need to do and that is how we buy from God.

You become weak if you do not eat and drink, and it is the same with our walk with Jesus. If we do not partake of God’s word, we become weak in our faith. Then there will be many other things that take over, things that do not satisfy and that do not build our faith. When we listen to God, our faith is strengthened and it becomes easier to make the right decisions, but also to have the ability to fulfill the right decisions.

Some do not prioritize spending time with God and that is unwise. Others should not have to read the Bible for you if you have the ability to read. So, buy food and drink from God that strengthens and fills you. Open your Bible and eat and drink.

God bless you.
