Change for real
“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4
The law given by God in the Old Testament has its limitations. It tells what is right and wrong, but it does not give power and ability to do what it says. The law is holy, given by God, but we humans do not have the ability to keep the law.
The Bible talks about our flesh. It is the part of us that is hostile toward God (see Romans 8:7) and the Bible describes the works of the flesh.
“Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I previously warned you, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21
No matter how hard we try, we can never please God through our own efforts. We are sinners in need of a Savior.
On the cross, God’s Son, Jesus, took the penalty of our sins upon Himself. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can now be reconciled to God through Jesus. When you believe in Jesus, God’s Spirit moves into your heart. And with the Spirit’s help, we can live right and glorify God with our lives.
Real change, for the better, comes from within, when a person opens their heart to Jesus. The message of Jesus is God’s power to salvation and help.
When God’s Spirit within you helps you in your daily life, you will notice that you will have an ability to follow Jesus. The Spirit flows through our lives by grace. There is nothing burdensome about it. Jesus has made it possible for us to live an abundant life in the power of the Spirit. So let yourself be filled daily by God’s Spirit and let Him blow your sails, as on a sailboat, and move you forward.
Let your life glorify God and be a blessing to people around you. All glory to God for what He has done for us and wants to do through us who believe in Jesus. No man can take any glory. Being a Christian is about living your life in fellowship and cooperation with God.
God bless you.
