Revival
“They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the way and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”” Luke 24:32
After Jesus rose from the dead, He accompanied some disciples who were on their way to Emmaus. Jesus went through and explained the Scriptures to them. He revealed Himself to His disciples in the Scriptures. And it began to burn in the disciples’ hearts.
When you read the Bible with faith, you see and hear Jesus. You see who Jesus is. You see what He did when He walked the earth and that He is the same today. You see His suffering, death and resurrection. You see the glorified Jesus with eyes like a flame of fire, a voice as the sound of many waters and an appearance like the sun shining brightly. When you read the Bible with faith, it starts to burn in your heart.
“Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son. In You I am well pleased.”” Luke 3:21-22
Something happened when Jesus prayed. Heaven was opened, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him, and the Father spoke.
Jesus has already opened heaven through His death and resurrection for us. So it is something that we neither can nor need to try to do. But when you pray, it’s like the atmosphere around you becomes clean and clear. When you pray, the Holy Spirit comes upon you. When you pray, you can hear God speak inside you.
This is the way forward, this helps you have a living faith. You don’t have to wait for others around you to become passionate in their faith in Jesus. You don’t have to wait for the circumstances around you to change. You can always have personal revival in your life.
Bible reading and prayer sets hearts on fire and it is something for all believers.
God bless you.
