You can’t fool God
“Do you despise the riches of His goodness, tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your hardness and impenitent heart, you are storing up treasures of wrath against yourself on the day of wrath when the righteous judgment of God will be revealed,” Romans 2:4-5
God’s goodness is meant to cause us to repent, not to be careless with our way of life. God’s patience with us humans is great and He gives us time to repent. But if we refuse to bow our hearts to Jesus, the Son of God, and let Him be our Lord and Savior, then we are living dangerously. Then we are the ones who reject God and there will be consequences. We will then go to hell, eternally lost.
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31
“For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29
Jesus has made it possible for us humans to be reconciled to God and have our sins forgiven. But it came at a high price. Jesus had to suffer and be killed for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day and wants to take up His abode in every human heart.
But when people hear this message and offer but continue to go their own way, then even God cannot help. The punishment for the sin will then fall heavily. God is holy and our sin is rebellion against Him and God in His wrath will let us suffer the consequences of our rebellion and unwillingness to respond to His outstretched hand.
If until now you have only taken the gift of life for granted and lived exactly as you wanted, then it is time to come to your senses. You can fool yourself, you can fool other people but you can’t fool God. You need to be reconciled to God.
“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call you upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6-7
Through Jesus you can be reconciled to God. Turn from sin and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and move into your heart. Put your faith in Jesus and confess Him as your Lord. Through Jesus there is forgiveness for all sin.
“My little children, I am writing these things to you, so that you do not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2
Read and follow the Bible. Walk in God’s ways and Jesus wants to help you in all areas of life. Together with Jesus, everything is possible. Follow Jesus all the way, all the way to heaven.
God bless you.
